Children’s Mini Beekeeping Experience 🐝 (Ages 5–17)

A fun, safe, and exciting introduction to the world of beekeeping—perfect for young nature lovers!

Join us at our apiary at Canalside Café, Kildwick, set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales near Skipton, for a hands-on 30-minute mini beekeeping session designed especially for children aged 5–17.

What to Expect:

Your child will suit up in real beekeeping gear and step into the fascinating world of the honeybee. Guided by an experienced beekeeper, they’ll get a close-up look at a live hive, learn how bees work together, how honey is made, and why these incredible pollinators are so important.

This shorter session is designed to be engaging, educational, and ideal for younger attention spans, while still offering a truly memorable experience.

There will be plenty of opportunities for photos and questions—making it a special experience for both children and accompanying adults.

Important Information – Please Read Carefully Before Booking!

This experience involves working closely with live bees. While we take every precaution to minimise the risk of stings, we cannot guarantee that participants will not be stung.

⚠️ This experience is highly NOT recommended for anyone with a bee sting allergy. We accept no responsibility for allergic reactions or stings.

All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Our apiary is located in a rural setting, and a short walk across open fields is required to reach it.

Duration: 30 minutes
Cost: £25 per child (adult included)

Age Restrictions:
This experience is strictly for children aged 5–17 only.
All participants must be accompanied by an adult.

Non-Refundable:
All bookings are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.

Weather Dependent:
If the experience is cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule your booking.
We may cancel if conditions are too cold, wet, or windy, as this affects bee activity.

Group Size:
Children may take part in small groups during the session.
